    Customer Service Officer - International Freight Management

    About the Role

    We are looking for a customer focused individual who can establish and maintain relationships with customers and deliver a positive customer experience to ensure customer retention. The primary role of this position is to facilitate the effective movement of Northline’s customer’s international freight.

     

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Manage and deliver excellent customer service to a portfolio of clients.
    • Manage import using CargoWise
    • Arrange bookings with shipping lines, co loaders and agents to ensuring shipments are executed in the most cost/time efficient manner.
    • Monitor and update shipment status reports.
    • Respond to queries from overseas offices, suppliers and clients.
    • Support the sales and management team.
    • Order management to a portfolio of clients
    • Assist in the preparation / negotiation of rates and quotations with customers.

     

    To be successful in the role you will have :

    • Minimum of 5 years' experience, with specialised knowledge of the Global Freight Forwarding Industry.
    • Previous exposure to the procedures and steps that need to be carried out to move cargo on an international scale.
    • Customer service experience in freight forwarding.
    • Import air and sea experience.
    • Strong attention to detail
    • High level of computer literacy and experience in using CargoWise
    • Ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, agents, staff, and all stakeholders.
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
    • Be able to pick up the phone and make calls accordingly.
