As the Customer Service Officer, you will act as the point of call between the Melbourne Branch and Northline’s National Call Centre, Sales & Account Management teams and may assist directly with Northline’s customers.
The role’s key focus is to improve Northline’s Customer Delight through a high level of service, accountability and performance. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will work in partnership with your fellow Customer Service Officers. Shifts run, Monday to Friday, hours scheduled between 8.00am and 6.00pm.
Key Responsibilities
Be the first point of contact for the Sales Team and Call Centre to monitor deliveries and pick-ups and for any depot related queries
Work with the depots Operations Team and other Customer Service Officers around Australia to ensure smooth freight movement
Locate misplaced consignments within the depot, manage misdirects and split deliveries
Manage damaged freight, ensuring incidents are dealt with quickly and issues are rectified
Responsible for contacting customers with freight held at depot to organise collection/delivery
What do we need from you?
A high level of focus and a commitment to Health, Safety & Environment practices
A fair understanding of the national freight industry
Proven history of providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work to tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of detail
Good communication, language, literacy and numeracy skills
Experience using Microsoft Office suite and strong data entry skills
Qualifications in Business Administration and/or Certificate in Warehousing, Transport & Supply chain (desirable, but not essential)
Availability for shifts scheduled between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday
About the traineeship
During your 18-24 month traineeship, you will be hosted by Northline and have the opportunity to learn, work and earn.
You will complete a Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations – General Qualification, through a combination of face to face or online learning along with practical ‘on the job’ experience.
As one of our trainees, you will be supported and mentored by our experienced staff and learn transferable skills to assist with your career.
